Inspired by the architecture of Venetian churches, the collection 'An Alternative History' by French designers Oud is a testament to this universe and the savoir-faire that survived through the ages. Featuring a marble motif painted by a highly-trained French artist entirely by hand, this ancient technique was common in the 17th and 18th century across Italy and France. The Santa Maria dei Miracoli wall console is anchored by a hand turned solid oak sphere, balancing the decorative details of this artistic object.
Founded by architects Marie-Sarah Burckel and Josselin Berteloot in 2018, Oud is a Parisian-based architecture and design studio. With formative experiences in Venice and Paris, the duo constantly explore the link between the past and present in their work. Lauréats of the Grand Prix d’architecture del’Académie des Beaux-Arts in 2016 and Prix André Arfvidson.
