The renovation of this 110m² home in the 16th arrondisement of Paris lasted over six months and demanded close collaboration between the owners and their interior designers Fischer & Mordrelle. One of the main programs involved reviewing the existing layout to create a larger living space and to bring in more natural light. Both sides were adamant to retain the Haussmannian spirit of the apartment whilst bringing modernity to the home through the choice of materials and furniture.
The interior designers selected terrazzo, brushed brass and fluted glass in keeping with the 70s’ vibe that the clients’ had in mind. Mixing vintage furniture and fixtures with contemporary pieces such as the cherry tree bench by Studio Haos, Fischer & Mordrelle succeeded in paying homage to the 70s without straying into a retro territory.
