Bert Frank’s elegant Pugil floor lamp features six ivory fabric shades that contrasts with the metallic lustre of hand-brushed brass arms. An impressive feature light switched on or off, the floor lamp stands on a triple-footed solid brass base. The name Pugil is derived from the latin pugnus (fist) which is the source of English words such as pugilism (fighting/boxing); the double-ended pole and shade design being reminiscent of ‘pugil sticks’ used in military combat training.
